Metamorphosis – Untitled – Object 2017
The conclusion of the developmental process on display manifests itself in the cocoons of natural silkworms and a piece of driftwood found in a river.
Empty cocoons are symbolically »nailed« to the wall: encasings that are lasting proof of both a physical and a spiritual-intellectual metamorphosis …
Things past are preserved, respected and presented as part of life … to keep all related memories real and ever-present. And to show that a fundamental liberation has taken place. Encountering this, the viewer will once more see that the process
of »hatching« is complete. Finally, the time has come in which the world can
be met in all its facets, its various currents and turbulences … this is to say, it is time to confront reality – even if the things of the past and the future may appear fragile.
Brave, curious, powerful and determined … with all the reasonable doubts that remain. In any case, with eyes free and open to the beauty of the here and now,
to nature and to the mysteries that await. With a head held high.
Following a path that is now possible.
The object is exhibited separately, suspended in space or (delicately) attached
to the wall. There should be sufficient space in front of it to allow viewers
to come close to the object or observe it from a distance.
Touching the object is discouraged.
