I appear naked in front of my viewers; I wear only a (fishing) net, that I made by myself. Pure, physical existence is shrouded by the net, which also holds my soul captive. This is a state that feels hard to bear, but is, at times, part of natural existence. By creating that self-portrait, I began to consciously perceive the influence of nature (like the moon) on my body. Accordingly, the photographs
were taken during particular lunar phases.
III/IV
As opposed to the net, the robe made of feathers and the liberating posture represent the desire to be as light as a bird and to free myself from all existential constraints. This desire can be understood as a component of both human and animal instinct. The connection to the animal world is shown in the image through a wolf that lies on the floor.
